Now that warm weather is upon us, the pressure is on to find summer sandals that are breathable, lightweight, and provide extra support.

But since so many sandals look and sound the same, how do you know which ones to buy? We spoke to an expert and came up with a list of the coziest and most comfortable sandals for summer – that you’ll definitely want to wear.

Even better? The 11 sandals listed below are under $100, so your feet can look stylish and supported without breaking the bank.

What should you look for in a sandal?

According to podiatrist Craig Hunt of Hunt Footcare, there are a few things to keep in mind before buying a new pair of sandals.

“First of all, fit is the most critical thing to look for. The sandal should conform to the shape of your foot to give you the most comfort and support,” Hunt said. Yahoo Canada. “You’ll want to find a sandal that fits the width of your forefoot, is long enough to cover your longest toe, and has a closed heel cup or ridge around your heel to hold your foot in place. square.”

“Finding a sandal with adjustable straps is also great, so you can adjust the shoe to your foot as it swells over the course of the day,” he adds.

What are the risks of ill-fitting sandals?

“If you don’t have a well-fitting sandal, it can lead to various issues that can actually cause your feet to feel more pain,” says Hunt.

Due to poor fit, Hunt says blisters, bunions or calluses are common, as well as the development of bacterial or fungal infections.

“Poorly fitting sandals can also cause pain in the arches or soles of the feet, can lead to nail problems or even plantar fasciitis, which is a very painful and difficult condition to treat,” adds Hunt.

How do you know which sandal to choose?

According to Hunt, it doesn’t necessarily matter which brand of sandal you choose, as long as it fits your foot properly and provides adequate support.

“However, there are some brands that I recommend for walking around the house like Birkenstock, Clark’s, Hoka and OOFOS, and others that are better for outdoors like Mckinley and Outbound,” Hunt says.
