There’s a new It-girl coming up, and her name is Alexa Demie.
You probably know her from the hit HBO series Euphoria, where she plays Maddy Perez, a high school girl with a penchant for pretty clothes and sparkly makeup. With a wardrobe that epitomizes the striking fashion trends of the 2000s that Gen Z loves, it’s no wonder Maddy has become something of a style icon over the past couple of years.
But Alexa’s off-screen outfits are just as worth mentioning, as we’ve seen from her recent outings with fellow It-girls Bella Hadid and Hailey Bieber. The actress may be a big fan of ’90s fashion, but she’s channeled everything from Old Hollywood glamor to 2000’s holiday chic into her street style. Whether she’s sporting a vintage Louis Vuitton handbag or rocking a head-to-toe Balenciaga ensemble, Alexa Demie makes it clear she knows what she’s doing.
Below, check out some of her best outfits over the years, both on and off screen, and show how you can easily recreate them.
Body in Balenciaga
Alexa wore three custom Balenciaga looks for the Euphoria premiered earlier this year (Kim Kardashian would certainly approve), but it was this neon green ensemble that stood out that night. Literally. The velvet bodysuit we’ve chosen has an Alexa-like sheen, while Balenciaga’s new Essex boots are sculpted to follow the lines of your legs. Be sure to finish your look with a pair of oversized sunglasses.
The little black cutout dress
Like Dua Lipa and Bella Hadid, EuphoriaMaddy Perez is big on cutouts. (Who can forget the iconic purple ensemble she wore to carnival in season one?) We bet she’d be a fan of lively fashion designer Nensi Dojaka, whose cut-out dresses are made from sultry layers of fabrics. transparencies that create unexpected effects. shapes, like the one below. And you can’t tell, but here Maddy’s Amina Muaddi strappy sandals add a dose of bling and color with their rainbow crystals. It’s a way to remix the classic LBD look.
Classy 2000 party
While Alexa cites the 90s as her biggest style inspiration, her and Maddy’s outfits constantly nod to the 2000s, like this look she wore alongside model Bella Hadid. It has all the hallmarks of a Y2K outfit, from the denim and leopard print to the designer’s monogram and those barely there sandals. Below, we’ve also saved you the trouble of searching for this vintage Louis Vuitton denim handbag.
At events, Alexa knows how to steal the show with a printed dress. Here, she wears one signed Tommy Hilfiger made in collaboration with her Euphoria co-star, Zendaya. Her thigh-high slit also gave her a chance to show off her beautiful burgundy leather boots, creating a refreshing outfit that’s more grown-up than her on-screen ensembles.
In Euphoria, Maddy takes tonal dressing to another level. Pastels like light blue and lavender, straight out of the Soft Girl Aesthetic manual, are a staple in her wardrobe (and makeup). You’ll often find them on her must-have pieces like cardigans and mini skirts. This outfit from the first season of the HBO series told us everything we needed to know about Maddy’s feminine style, and it’s pretty easy to pull off too.
The sparkling ball gown
One of Maddy’s most memorable looks on Euphoria is her prom outfit, consisting of a sparkly chainmail halter top, matching skirt, and feather-trimmed shrug. It was delightfully glamorous and unlike anything we’ve seen at other fictional (or real, for that matter) balls. The look was custom made, but you can easily create a similar outfit for your next party with our picks below.
