Kristen Stewart gave the outfit a punk rock vibe for a screening of “Spencer” in New York this week.
The ‘Twilight’ star dressed in a Bella Freud costume, which featured a brown, navy and white pattern. The blazer and pants featured a velvety texture, giving her ensemble a relaxed softness. Stylist Tara Swennen teamed the set with a sultry black lace crop top from Dolce and Gabbana, with a deep neckline. The look was completed with Stewart’s silver lock necklace by Jillian Dempsey.
As for footwear, Swennen grounded Stewart’s menswear-inspired look in a pair of Nomasei loafers. The style featured metallic silver leather uppers, as well as chunky 1.18-inch heels and slightly square toes. Stewart’s loafers also featured chunky front straps with a shiny gold hand pendant on each, adding to the quirkiness of the pair. The style gave it a purely rock n’ roll look.
Loafers have been a major footwear trend over the past few seasons, due to their casual nature, as well as whimsical and practical features such as loafer straps and notched soles. Brands like Prada, Gucci and Ganni released their own styles which became hallmarks of the trend. Besides the ‘Clouds of Sils Maria’ actress, stars like Elsa Hosk, Bella Hadid and Rita Ora have worn pairs from Celine, Vinny’s and Alexander McQueen in recent weeks.
Stewart has become known for her fashion-forward approach since rising to fame. As Chanel’s brand ambassador since 2013, the “Personal Shopper” star often wears the French brand’s shoes on and off the red carpet. Outside of Chanel, she’s been seen in strappy sandals and pointy-toe pumps from luxury brands including Christian Louboutin, Tamara Mellon, Malone Souliers and Jimmy Choo. She’s also been spotted in edgy boots by Dr. Martens and Casadei. When not on duty, Stewart favors Timberland work boots, Public Desire slippers and loafers from Poesie Veneziane and Hereu. Her favorite looks also include Adidas, Vans and Converse sneakers.
