Castries, Saint Lucia, Wednesday 10 November 2021: – The members of the Sandals team in St. Lucia are beaming with pride for the cocktail after a new indication that they are always ready to bounce back and take action whenever needed, in good times and bad.
This time around, they are celebrating their participation in a “welcome cocktail contest” announced through Sandals Resorts International (SRI), as part of the official activities marking its 40th anniversary.
The competition involved participants from all three of SRI’s properties here:
At Sandals Halcyon Beach, five participants stepped up to the plate: Ron Avril, Jason Philogene, Waynelle Monrose, Ramiz St. Luce and Jonathan Morgan.
At Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort, nine suitors lined up: Deion Peter, Kate Stephen, Saskia Jn Baptiste, Clent Sylvester, Francis Francis, Christine Simeon, Craig Andes, Michel Hunt and Kilan Casimir.
And at Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa, six were ready to take the plunge: Bedeana Joseph, Vince Modeste, Gersham Moses, Amanda Stephen, Rhett Cox and Christy Chandler.
The winner would receive US $ 400, a trip to relax at any Sandals resort – and their signature cocktail would be included as part of welcome drinks for guests throughout the year.
The end users themselves, the guests of Sandals Diamond, were invited to sit on the jury.
From the first sip to the last, it was a heated competition, as the judges rehearsed the tastes and refreshments until the winners were chosen.
Once the hustle and bustle was over, Jonathan Morgan took first place at Sandals Halcyon with his aptly named cocktail “Halcyon Bliss ”, inspired by the beautiful landscape of the seaside resort, with the color representing the foliage, reminiscent of paradise.
Jonathan says: “I was very happy to have the opportunity to participate in the competition and I am very grateful and proud to have won”.
The entrance of Kilan Casimir “Verry Berry” emerged victorious from Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort, a drink he says was inspired by all the best Sandals Grande around.
Casimir says: “I knew I was going to face some stiff competition, so I had to bring my A-game. I am very happy to have won.
Chrissy Chandler’s “Frosted Hibiscus”Inspired by romance, heady dizzying sensations and hints of sweetness, blew the competition away at Sandals Regency La Toc Golf Resort & Spa.
Chrissy says her “drink is perfect for the Sandals couple, where love is all you need.”
General Manager Winston Anderson, congratulating the entrants and the winners, said: “We always prided ourselves on having the best team members in the world here, and when we announced this competition we knew it was going to be. offer fierce competition and extraordinary cocktails.
“In fact, I wish I could declare everyone a winner, the competition was so fierce and the drinks they produced were of such quality – all original, mind you, but it’s above my pay grade. . “
He continued, “As we kick off our 40th anniversary celebrations, we couldn’t have started with a better place than with some of the people who make our guests happy.

The welcome cocktail competition set the tone for a year-long celebration at Sandals resorts and the St. Lucia team members are strongly anticipating the next.
