Before Valentino’s Haute Couture show stole the show on Friday, July 8, the crowd of front-row stars dressed in hot pink made waves as they arrived. A slew of famous names flew to Rome’s Piazza di Spagna for the event, with the majority sporting the Italian luxury house’s “PP Pink” as the official color of the season.

First up, Anne Hathaway made a compelling case for wearing the vibrant hue from head to toe. She donned a sequined turtleneck top, with a peplum hem and strapless bodice. The long-sleeved design flowed elegantly over a bubble mini skirt, with a fitted waist that billowed around it. The actress, whose red carpet style has sparked renewed interest, continues to serve as an inspiration at every turn. Working with her stylist Erin Walsh, she kept the pink theme alive with Valentino’s platform pumps and Roman stud shoulder bag.

Hathaway wore a Barbiecore-approved design from the fashion house’s unforgettable Fall 2022 ready-to-wear collection, which recently dominated the red carpet. Other VIP guests opted for ensembles from the same runway, including Ariana DeBose, who wore an off-the-shoulder mini dress adorned with floral appliqués; Ashley Park, who opted for a plunging long-sleeved mini dress; Tommy Dorfman, who shone in a sheer top and sequined pants; and Florence Pugh, who also embraced the nude dress trend in a revealing tulle maxi dress. Meanwhile, a number of notable stars have made stunning appearances in other Valentino designs, including Naomi Campbell, Tina Kunakey and Kate Hudson.

On the catwalk – or rather on the runway in Rome’s Spanish Steps – a poetic collection was unveiled, presenting unexpected combinations in vibrant tones and bold volumes. A series of romantic bow-embellished dresses and skirts, as well as floral separates with 3D taffeta roses and feathered styles, exuded the utmost sophistication, while beautifully tailored coats and loose jumpsuits balanced out the theatrical effect. with everyday practicality.
